A Hunger Like No Other

A mythic warrior who'll stop at nothing to possess her...
After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he's waited millennia for is a vampire. Or partly one. This Emmaline is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him.
A vampire captured by her wildest fantasy...
Sheltered Emmaline Troy finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents--until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae--and their notorious dark desires--ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.
An all-consuming desire...
Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole. 4 out of 5 stars! Okay I was a little annoyed by how the book started mainly because I wasn't certain what the book was about. The summery on the book just left me even more clueless to what events might happen in the book.  This also was the first book I read by Kresley Cole, so now I'm left trying to figure out rather I'm going to read another. Just kidding! I think I might read the next book. My since of humor must be a little rusty today. Hardy har har!
Oookay dokie the main characters of this book are Lachlain MacRieve the leader of the Lykae Clan a group of shapeshifters and Emmaline Troy half Valkyrie (fey) and half vampire . Lachlain is a very interesting person. After being tortured by a horde of vampires he escapes to look for his long awaited mate. To hims shock it is a vampire that is his mate which he he has a little bit of trouble excepting. Emma was just walking through the streets in front of lots of people when all of a sudden a guy comes out of no where tearing apart everything to get to her. She of course run like any smart female would do, but of course he just toying with her. He then forced himself on her which made the book a little more odd. This little part left me weary of the book and I almost stopped reading it, but I wanted to know what happened between the two characters. I'll give the second book a chance, but if it's not very fast paced then I'll most likely set the book down. This book went by fast enough that I wasn't completely bored.
If you want to read a good old paranormal romance book that's a little different then this would be the book to read.  The book also does have a nice little glossary in the back that talked about the creatures and groups of creatures/being/paranormal whatever you want to call them.
