Summary: Dorienne Nielsen has no clear vision of her own future…until an object rockets from the sky and slams to earth behind the county fair barn. The mercenary extraterrestrials, Den and Zeeto, want a scrounger. Dorienne’s smart mouth and voracious appetite for information fills the niche. Utilizing an illegal cybernetic augmentation, Dorienne dives head-first into information scrounging while dodging pirates, other mercenaries and political zealots. Tricky interstellar politics and the stigmas of being human in a non-human vacuum test her at every turn.

The Review
Soooo. What to say, what to tell you, what I thought about this book. Well first off I had to sleep on this review to make sure I thought of everything needed to say about the book. Simple - I loved the book. Now here’s a more in depth reason.

The characters;
So we had Dorienne, the human in the group that always knew something else was out there. Our head character and female surrounded by gawking men. (I believe she handled them well.) We had Noa the bodyguard. He believed that he must remain noble and not kiss the people he works with. The whole book I was yelling “Kiss her! Kiss her like you mean it!” Then we had Den and Zeeto, the people who pull Dorienne into all this mess. They were the more easy going characters that could generate a laugh at points. Finally to sum up the main main characters; Eleksi. He is the cranky one at first site. (Note I said first.) I started out disliking him, but by the end he had grown on me. He was the more strict growly person.

The settings;
So this story takes place in a lot of different places. They’re in space so I hoped that it would be in more than one place. Of course this is a important part of writing a space story. Why stay in one place when you have the universe to explore. Well we see lot’s of places.

The main part of the book;
Empty Space had lot’s of problems. When I say lots I mean a large amount of kick butt fights. With action, guns, dragon animal fighting, and well a lot more. The book really doesn’t go around one specific problem, but more like multiple ones. I personally like how Suzanne Dome set all this up. The fights were all well written making it easier to “see” the action.

The Legend of Michael

Title: The Legend of Michael (Zodius #1)
Author:  Lisa Renee Jones
Page count: 382
Genre: Paranormal Romance,
My rating: 3.5/5
Publisher:  Sourcebooks Casablanca
Published:May 1st 2011
Summary: HE IS A LETHAL WEAPON…
One of an army of human soldiers injected with alien DNA, Michael is a legend within this new race, split between good and evil. Untamable, he has walked on the dark side and returned to the light. Feared and misunderstood, he leaves everything behind, including the one woman destined to be his mate.
HE IS HER ENEMY…AND HER DESTINY…
Fate leads Michael back to Cassandra Powell, for she holds the key to defending his comrades. With their loyalties divided between duty and the people they love, only together can Cassandra and Michael overcome insurmountable odds to save humanity from the wrath of a madman.
But no ordinary woman can control a creature such as Michael, and only one thing is clear—the world will never be the same…

The Review
SO at some points I was pulling my hair in frustration at the density of Cassandra and Michael. Of course later we learned there was more to it, but at that moment I couldn't stand it. Some points the non main characters had more soul and personality then the main character. Adam and Ava (eve. ava. eve. ava. O_O) had more soul because the evilness of them reeked right off the pages. Then there was Caleb the guy forced into this because of Adam. Brock and Powell are incredibly stupid choosing sides they think will win. Money and power was their character.
Then the story line was enough to pull me in and keep me reading, to see how it ended. Leaving me curious and intrigued, how would everything fall into place.Since it didn’t give too many clues.
Would I read the second book? Maybe if I had nothing to read.

Darkness Dawns

Title: Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians #1)
Author:  Dianne Duvall
Page count: 345
Genre: Paranomral Romance, vampires, immotals,
My rating: 5/5
Publisher: Zebra Books
Published: February 1st 2011
Summary: In this dazzling, sensual novel, Dianne Duvall beckons readers into a world of vampires, immortals, and humans with extraordinary gifts…where passion can last forever, if you’re willing to pay the price…
Once, Sarah Bingham’s biggest challenge was making her students pay attention in class. Now, after rescuing a wounded stranger, she’s landed in the middle of a battle between corrupt vampires and powerful immortals who also need blood to survive. Roland Warbrook is the most compelling man Sarah has ever laid hands on. But his desire for her is mingled with a hunger he can barely control…
In his nine centuries of immortal existence, no woman has tempted Roland as much as Sarah. But asking her to love him is impossible—when it means forfeiting the world she’s always known, and the life he would do anything to protect…

My Thoughts
So our two characters Sarah the person pulled into a mess by an accident and Roland the warrior fighting against the bad guys. Together they have a burning passion forming between them from the moment they meet.Even when they try to ignore it.Alone both can stand on their own, normally in books like this the characters need to be together to fit perfectly.

The Review
Darkness Dawns had the main problem, the side problem, and the fights in between reaching the climax. Sarah and Roland’s problem with the vampires and then there was Seth’s problem with the mystery woman. With that we get the vibe that immortals have no luck. With the british bad guy Bastien, lost in his way or just plain evil, we don’t know for most parts of the book. At least until he ends up doing stuff in the present and past to make the immortals hate him.
The story is easy enough to fall in love with. Characters with comical personalities, and a plot leaving you wanting more.
Would I read the second book?  Yup started it yesterday.

Aliens Are Real

Title: Aliens Are Real
Author: Sabrina Sumsion
Page count: 202
Genre: Young Adult, Aliens,
My rating: 5/5
Publisher:  Sanguine Publishing
Published: January 3rd 2012
Summary: When Jasmine moves to Omaha, Ne with her Colonel father as he works on top secret matters at Offut Air Force Base, she prepares herself for another lonely station. Jasmine meets Yumi, a mysterious girl in Art Class, and her world changes.
Jasmine plots to stay in Omaha but the acceptance of Yumi's housemates is central to her plans. Their rejection surprises her until she realizes they have a secret. For a chance at stability and blossoming love, Jasmine puts herself in harm's way to rescue Yumi and find the home she's been searching for since her mother died.

The Review
Cute, charming, unique, different, so many words can describe this story.  When I started reading this story I didn’t know what to think about it because it appeared in a smashwords search, and the cover pulled me in. Plus a summary can only so much about the book.
At some points you will be pulling your hair yelling for a couple certain characters to stop being jerks. But that was the character's personality, and she hit them dead on.
Jasmines just the daughter of a traveler, rather she likes it or not she has to move. Jasmine is a strong character who will fight for what she believes is right. It might not be something big, but what she wants she will get one way or another. Then we have Yumi the nice one in her group of “friends”. By the end you’ll hopefully love the two or like them at least. Finally we have Honorio, captain anger pants. Give him a chance and he’ll grow on you.  Don’t like him? To bad deal with it. ;)
If you want a cute sci fi story then this one is for you. It’s pretty clean so young audiences can read it.  Now go tonder and read the story then spread its story. Now will I read the next one? Yeah. :)

Harvest

Title: Harvest (The Druid Breeders Trilogy, #3)
Author: Marata Eros
Page count: 47
Genre: Romance, kick butt vampires,
My rating: 5/5
Publisher:  Smashwords
Published:   january 6th 2012
Summary: Rachel and Holly escape from Alexander's clutches only to fall into the hands of his Reapers.
Can Cole and Zach save their chosen before they are claimed by another?
Will the Druid women fulfill their destiny to change the race of vampire forever?

The Review:
What a ending! It doesn’t leave you wondering like the first two, no cliffhangers here, but a happy ending, or as happy as they could be. I never saw this ending coming, but it was amazing and well s-h-o-c-k-i-n-g! Now enough about the ending. Rachel and Holly just have no luck what so ever. Being led from one kidnapping to another you keep wondering when something good will happen to them.  Then we have our knights with issues; far from innocent, far from understanding women.
So then we’re introduced to Josiah, Elias, and Andrew. The saviors (?) and killer of the hated leader Alexander. In all chances the girls bad luck strikes again. On the bright side they’re nicer than Alexander. Now you want to know what’s so big about these people? Read the books and figure it out silly!
Then with this ending it leaves you wondering what the next book will be about. With no cliffhanger we get left wondering, and hoping. Will we be meeting new characters, or will they be the same ones. Hmmm the possibilities.

Free Falling

Title: Free Falling (Legend #4)
Author:  Claudy Conn
Page count: ////
Genre: Romance, Awesome Fae
My rating: 5/5
Publisher:  \\\\
Published:  September 27th 2011
Summary: They call her Z and she is a handful ready to explode. She has entered the war against Gais and the Dark Fae and means to take him on all by herself. She is driven.
Aaibhe, Queen of the Seelie has other plans, and she sends in Prince Danté to execute and preserve her wishes. Z and the prince meet and hackles go up on both sides. Oooh…no, they don’t like each other one bit. They bang heads at every turn, and those turns become a whirlwind of emotions and feisty Z, well, her attitude is ‘bring it.’

My thoughts:

Both characters are easy to fall in love with. Z with her easy going noble personality and Dante the prince who has the patience of a saint. I can say these characters were comical to read about at certain points. The story will leave you hair pulling/tugging and nerve wracked by the end. And finally THE battle starts, THE BATTLE!

The Review:
So we got Z a girl with lots of attitude, add prince Dante and we have a thing called disaster at first site. From the start of the book both characters fight each other in some way (notice I say more than one, eh eh.) Until finally a nice little romance brews between them. For the first time in the series leaves you at a dreaded thing called a cliff hanger. Of course that means we get to read more about Z and Dante.
Free Falling never has a dull moment. When things appeared quiet, well they didn’t stay that way for long. We got some lovely descriptions of the battles/fights nice a goo filled. The battle finally starts and that’s all I  have to say.

Bled

Title: Bled (The Druid Breeders Trilogy)
Author: Marata Eros
Page count: 50
Genre: Paranormal, Romance, vampire, instances of figuring out the bad guys.
My rating: 5/5
Publisher:  -----
Published: November 25th 2011
Summary: When Rachel is taken by Zach of the rogue she is determined to resist him. But her unique Druid biology controls her and she slips perilously close to succumbing.
Cole searches for the one Druid that can make his life complete. While his comrade Nathan, in a heroic maneuver to help him, suffers at the hands of their sadistic ruler, Alexander.
While searching for Cole, Nathan discovers another Druid in the wrong place at the wrong time. Could she be the catalyst that brings two enemies together?

My Thoughts:
From what I got the one side not that bad while the other side cough cough Reapers can go die in a hole. They make me slightly irritated, or maybe a lotttt! Then we get the really creepy twin aspect that comes in and their you’re left wondering about them. Simply amazing.
You fall in love with the story from the first page. The characters each have wills of their own ready to make you gasp in shock when they’re hurt, or when they do something you never saw coming.

The Review:
Once again we are left with a cliffhanger that leaves your mouth gaping open going HOLY CRAP! These characters just don’t have any luck. But anyway we meet Holly and Zach to characters that are easy enough to like. While meeting Zach we learn that bad guys group two are nice and better than group one. (Read my review for book one if you wish to know who the groups are.)
Marata Eros has a fun writing style to read. Her books are simply amazing.

Shaken

Title: Susan Hatler
Author: Shaken
Page count: 255
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal, Romance
My rating: 5/5
Publisher:  -----
Published: February 4th 2012
Summary:(Mind Reader Series, Book One) High school junior, Kylie Bates, can suddenly read minds. When she touches people’s hands, she’s able to see their deepest thoughts. As if that’s not freaky enough, her dad sends her to help hottie detective, Sam Williams, track down a missing girl. Way too much pressure, especially for a girl who can’t watch Scream without getting nightmares.
Then, finding the missing girl leads to much more than Kylie’s prepared for. Like discovering that her dad has been lying to her. That she has a family she never knew about. That the girls have powers similar to hers. Oh yeah, and that someone is out to get her.
When the detective’s teenage wanna-be-cop cousin, Trip Williams, approaches Kylie at school insisting she help him solve the case, she discovers Trip might be the only one she can trust, and the only one to help her unravel the secrets behind her mysterious gift.

My thoughts:
I love the concept in the book. It left you wanting to know what was going to happen and the characters were easy to fall in love with. >_> Or maybe that’s just Trip. I absolutely loved  - Susan Hatler has fun easy writing to read. It sucks you right in.

The Review:
The characters were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Trip was easy to feel and understand.  Kylie was a little winy at first, but after she figured everything out she snapped out of it thanks to a spunky cousin of hers. If you don’t like her friend then trust your instincts because she is trouble in a form of-. You think I’m going to tell you?
The story has the bad guys and the not so bad guys, but still somewhat bad. The story is dark at times some times, but it is casually dark with bright comic moments that made you feel a giggle coming. It had the cute romance only a teenager can get away with.
Would I read the next? Yuppity. :)

When her online search for Amy's killer leads her to go missing like her friend before her, he becomes her only hope. but as his worries and motives come to light, he begins to look less and less like the loyal, loving boyfriend he's been playing.

The Review
Soo I won this in a giveaway. Yay. :) I really liked the cover which pulled me in along with the summary that left me... Intrigued you could say.
One thing in the book that stuck with me for some reason is, cat. Don’t ask why it just stuck, so I decided to share it with you.  Second I’m glad I am not the only that thought the characters were scary and disturbing on many levels. TO the point that they were absolutely horrible. Not written, I mean their personalities, bad bad people. The story was very :O , “GASP!” You’ll never see the ending coming.
Then how the story went. It was a little confusing at first, but you quickly figured it out. With the twist, turns, oh snaps, and problems, it leaves you feeling exactly what the characters are and then plus that.  Everything was easy to see and visualize making this reader happy and satisfied with the book.
Now the issues of the book, it was a little slow leading up to the point, but when it did pick and everything fit together like a puzzle you get sucked in.
Now you the readers of this post. GO read this book and spread its story around. :D Don’t forget to write a review, even if its just one line. Us authors appreciate it.

Reapers

Title: Reapers (The Druid Breeders Trilogy)
Author: Marata Eros
Page count: 72
Genre: Paranomral, erotica
My rating: 5/5
Publisher: Amazon Digital Services
Published: September 10. 2011
Summary: The vampires are a dying race, their females sterile. When it's discovered that human females of Druid ancestry can be viable breeders...the harvest begins.
Rachel Collins is a young woman living in the frozen north of Alaska in a dead-end job with a circular life. She yearns for something more.
When murders begin taking place in the city where she lives, she and her girlfriend try to be more cautious...only to be caught in the middle of a dangerous situation in which an unlikely savior emerges.
Can Rachel escape her destiny while two different factions hunt her?

My Thoughts
So this was a freebie on amazon and I decided to pick it up and read it. I was a little wary since the stars were low, but I’m glad I never care about the star ranking. In the end I loved the story beside yelling at their cavemen  thoughts. “You women, you stay here.” Yeah if I yell at a book it means I like it. ;)

The Review
The characters were all different and one seemed to shock me by the end of the story. Who knew he do the some what right thing?
Rachel is thrust into a world that she knows nothing about, left trying to get out of the problem. Of course you’ll understand the cavemen comment from above if you read the book. :3 Back to the review. The story plot and problems changed quickly going from one thing to another, never was there a dull moment.
The bad guys started as one, then there was another. Lots of dark shady problems from the two groups, and there starts your problem of choosing who you hate more. The kidnapping creeps or the rouges.
Love fast paced books, with loads of drama, then this books was made for you.
Would I read the next? Yush! In a heartbeat.

Little Orphan Anvil: The Shades of Fate

Title: Little Orphan Anvil: The Shades of Fate
Author: Joseph Beekman
Page count: 88
Genre: Young Adult, Super-Cute-Robots
My rating: 5/5
Publisher: Stone Tablet Tales
Published: February 23, 2012
Summary: With the discovery of a "legendary" pumpkin patch in the dark of the deadwoods, the witch returns in this second installment to the tale of magic and metal. The Land of Iron and Anvil is once again threatened by the dark magic of the witch, and the little robot, Anvil, along with some new and old friends, must venture into the shadowy lands of the realm to stop her wicked ways...and seal her fate.

My Thoughts
Little adorable robot... Is it a problem when I’m in love with a cute adorable robot. Yeah I don’t see a single problem with it. >_> Can you tell which character became my favorite then poor little guy ends up.... Yeah I’m not saying, you’ll have to read it to find out. Yep I’m going to... Start part two of the review now. :)

The Review
So the amount of detail made seeing the characters, setting, everything easy to see and when that happens it means.... Less confused reviewer.
I loved how all the characters were strongly written and well I normally don’t like all the characters in story. This one I did. Even reading it over a couple day period since I kept getting interrupted by real life problems.
So the amazing thing about this book it can be a stand alone novel, but it also has more meaning for people that have read the first book.
The bad witch is well bad. WHo knew taking a pumpkin from the middle of the woods could cause this much trouble... From ghost taking over children's bodies because the witch forced them into it, to journey over vast amounts of land. Mainly swamps, canyons, and... Not telling the rest. This is a read that can entertain all ages. :)

Trapped (Legend #3)

Title:  Trapped (Legend #3)
Author: Claudy Conn
Page count: 234
Genre: Paranormal romance
My rating: 5/5
Publisher: Amazon
Published: December 20th, 2011
Summary: BJ is a Fios (Seer) which means she can see the Fae-dark or light, through their Glamour and their invisibility. The war between the two forces of Fae has heated up and BJ is being drawn into the fray.

There is a 17th century hunk who wants to help-but he is trapped. There is a murderer helping the Dark Fae who desperately wants BJ dead, and a Prince of Fae--Danté who is on the spot willing to keep her close. BJ has reasons to distrust everyone...and she does

My Thoughts
These books just keep getting better and better. As more of the series goes by we get introduced to new fae and worster... More worst problems... Yah get what I’m saying I hope. Well I loved the painting problem in the book, that was amazing, and I was not expecting it. :)
I love this cover!

The Reivew
SO once again we’re faced with the love triangle. Who will BJ accept, and truthfully you don’t know for a while. If you like suspense that builds up to a tidal wave of emotions then this is your book.
Again with the painting, it was different and you wouldn't expect it unless you were a super genius. He is my favorite character in the series so far, a certain fae character coming close behind him. ;)
Now the battle is really coming together. The war is starting. Just thought you’d like to know that, even if you already knew it. Easily entertained, er the fights are well detailed, but not overly done a super long - I can keep up with it.
BJ’s relationship with Brian was amazing. It was about the physicalness of a relation, but the mental stability of keeping one alive. Let’s just say if he the murderer (not telling you;} ) was alive in real life, I’d cut him and do what women do best. Yell and attack him like a savage animal.

The Vampire Hunter's Daughter, Part I

Title:  The Vampire Hunter's Daughter, Part I
Author: Jennifer Malone Wright

Genre: vampire hunter, Young Adult, Short story, Vampires.

Published: August 11, 2011
Summary: Fourteen-year-old Chloe witnesses her mother’s murder at the hands of a vampire. Before the vampire can kidnap her, there is an unexpected rescue by a group of vampire hunters. Overwhelmed by the feeling of safety, Chloe passes out and they whisk her away to their small community.
When Chloe wakes, she comes face to face with the only other living relative, besides her mother, whom she has ever met: her grandfather. Chloe’s mother kept her hidden from the family; now, Chloe tries to unveil the family secrets.
Through her grandfather, she learns her mother was a vampire hunter. In fact, her entire family is descended from the powerful bloodlines of vampire hunters. Chloe agrees to join the family she has never known for one reason only: Chloe vows to kill the vampire responsible for her mother’s murder.
With vengeance in her soul, Chloe is even more determined to follow through on her vow when she discovers the true identity of her enemy and how he is connected to her.

My Thoughts:
So I got this book on amazon... I think, and she keeps asking for reviews, so I read it. Now I’m reviewing it. Truthfully I’ve been holding this off for a looooong time since it’s only part one and that’s probably going to be the only one I can get. Better to not start a series if you know you won’t be able to finish it. (I am a wise person :D)

The Review:
The story. The Character. The bad guys. They are like Bam in your face! They’re all strong and well written. 19 pages was enough to draw me in and leave me wishing for more. The way the plot is set up isn’t to like another vampire book out there. If you liked the Vampire Academy series then you’d like this. Less school and more vampires and killing the bad guy.
We get the chance to see that there might be a future relationship, or it’s just me seeing this. I hope not!

Would I read more? Heck yeah!

Title:  Chance Encounters
Author: J Sterling

Published: April 2012
Summary: Caroline Weber was a normal girl who thought she had her life figured out. After graduating from college in New York, she moved to San Francisco with her boyfriend, Clay. Everything in her life felt perfect. There wasn't anything she would change...
...until she met Jackson Parks.
Is it possible that a chance meeting with a stranger can make you question EVERYTHING you thought you wanted? Caroline tries to carry on with her life as if nothing has changed...but the truth is, nothing can ever be the same.
Chance Encounters is an emotional love story about trusting and following your heart, even when it's leading you down a difficult path.
Sometimes other hearts have to break in order to keep yours intact.

My Thoughts:
So the thing that made me mad and lowered my review. How the hell can you stay with a guy if you’re in love with another. Its just not right! That irritated me the whole story and I’m glad to get it off my chest. Also thanks to the author for giving me a copy to read and review the story. Overall I liked it.

The Review:
The guy characters were all strong and ready to speak their minds. Caroline Weber well she was a weak and afraid. If she hadn’t told Clay what was happening during the story it would have been selfish of her, but if she had stayed with him then that be awful. I can’t say this story is your average love story, and that it has it’s kicks.
Some people might prefer this better then me, but it’s just the concept of meet boy fall in love, oh wait I have a boyfriend - Now What! That keeps getting me.
